| Cargill sold their Napa salt production facility to the State of California which plans to restore the salt ponds to native conditions. In the meantime, the company sought an economical way to complete harvest and shipment of salt from the facility via barge down the Napa River. TranSystems explored alternative loading configurations and types of conveying and handling equipment. The project team then led a design/build project to construct a barge loading facility that ships approximately 8,500 tons of salt per month while meeting Cargill’s cost parameters. |
