Chevron Phillips Chemical Company
Pasadena, TX
| With TranSystems’ assistance, the company evaluated development of rail car storage yards with a total 2000-car capacity at three plants. The intent was to have these yards replace capacity at railroad-owned SIT yards where storage fees and switching charges are being increased. The project provided conceptual layouts and construction cost estimates along with a “fatal flaw” environmental review. Transystems then provided final design and obtained environmental permits for three SIT yards. The first is at Cedar Bayou for 750 cars, the next at Pasadena for 1000 cars, and the last at Orange for 250 cars. |
