| The Holcim project draws on TranSystems’ expertise company-wide and in a variety of disciplines. Five teams working out of three offices are contributing to the mammoth design effort. While 4.5 million cubic yards of rock and two million cubic yards of earth were excavated, the teams were planning and designing the plant’s infrastructure: various access and haul roads, a major inner harbor on the Mississippi River, railroad tracks to integrate with the loading/unloading facilities on the harbor, and over 60 acres of wetlands. |
